I Believe in You (all 570 of you)

The news made me sad on the 269th day of 2018.  On 9/26/18, it is estimated that 570 people were victims of sexual assault in the US.  This is one person every 98 seconds and this is unacceptable.  I think it is important to note that in multiple studies, it is estimated that fewer than 10% of accusations are false.  And that is with 63% of the incidents going unreported (mainly because people are afraid of the repercussions of reporting, especially the disbelief and shaming.)  We need to believe, we need to support, and we need to educate to reduce this awful behavior.  We need to be better than this.  This is horrible.  The number of today is 570 (and I pray for each and every one of them).  And our song is about believing.  #IBelieveYou.

102nd Birthday

The 43rd day pf 2018 marked the anniversary of the birth of a very important person.  And Abraham Lincoln too!  But 2/12/18 would have been the 102nd birthday of Nettie Soskin, my Bubbe.  She was one of the most amazing women I have ever met and she is one of my role models.  And she could cook too!!  <3  So, to honor her, we have the number of the day as 102 and this Stevie Wonder classic as our song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inS9gAgSENE
