Let's Get It Started (2,659 New Quakers!)

Here we are, at Day 239 of 2018.  And 8/27/18 was Opening Convocation Ceremonies at Penn.  I have been marshaling and attending this ceremony for as long as I can remember.  Tonight was hot, yes, but it was an awesome start as usual to the new semester and, for 2,659 new undergraduates, their time at Penn.  So, I say WELCOME to the Class of 2022 (and Transfer Students) and hold up 2,659 as the number of the day and rock out to this song from the Black Eyed Peas!  Let's get it started!

102nd Birthday

The 43rd day pf 2018 marked the anniversary of the birth of a very important person.  And Abraham Lincoln too!  But 2/12/18 would have been the 102nd birthday of Nettie Soskin, my Bubbe.  She was one of the most amazing women I have ever met and she is one of my role models.  And she could cook too!!  <3  So, to honor her, we have the number of the day as 102 and this Stevie Wonder classic as our song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inS9gAgSENE
