We're (30 of us!) Having a Party

On the 245th day of 2018, the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, a great family tradition continued.  The Annual Walters Family Picnic was held on 9/2/18 and all three Walters children were there with their families (all six grandchildren and even four boyfriend/girlfriends).  Uncles and Aunts and Cousins and more!  Thirty people in all enjoyed the company, the seafood, the steaks, the fun, the conversation, and the dessert (oh the desserts!)  It is an amazing tradition and it signals (to me) the end of the Summer and the start of the Fall season (even if the weather does not seem to agree).  For our number of the day, we will go with 30, the number of attendees, and Rod Stewart will sing about us Having a Party!  Hope your Labor Day Weekend has been grand.

In the Pub (from 1950) dreaming of Beauty and the Beast

It was another day of relative relaxation on the 361st day of 2018.  Got a good swim in at the gym and some down time at home and then capped off 12/27/18 with a wonderful dinner, with wonderful friends in a new place that is actually old.  Yes, we went to the PUB for the first time (amazingly enough) and, in the main dining room, all I could think is that we were in the Beast's Castle in Disney.  I was a great atmosphere and the good food and conversation made it a really nice time.  Since the PUB became the PUB in 1950, that will be our number of the day.  And, since I felt like we were in Beauty and the Beast, its theme song will be our song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axySrE0Kg6k

As Cold As Ice (OK, Just 39 degrees)

Merchantville Softball played Waterford Little League on the evening of the 291st day of 2018.  And, on 10/18/18, it was cooooold!  (It is always cold there but tonight it was really cold).  The first cold snap of the Fall has arrived.  I even turned on the car's heat on the trip back.  It's supposed to go down to 39 tonight (first time in the 30s since April), so 39 is our number of the day.  And, although it's not 32, I still think this Foreigner song applies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC99JhQq-3w
