Genesis 17:2 (172), the Covenant and Promises

So today was the 56th day of 2018.  And, as most Sundays do, 2/25/18 started off at Church.  I like Pastor Michael's Lenten Sermon theme.....Covenant.  And, today, we heard the verses in Genesis describing God's promises to Abraham:
                                   "And I will make my covenant between me and you,
                                         and will make you exceedingly numerous."

And we are challenged to think about what God's promises to us might be and how we can see them in our lives.  This is what I will be considering all week.  Thank you, Michael!  For tonight, the number of the day will be 172 (for the verse above, Genesis 17:2) and this When in Rome song is one of my 80's favorites!

In the Pub (from 1950) dreaming of Beauty and the Beast

It was another day of relative relaxation on the 361st day of 2018.  Got a good swim in at the gym and some down time at home and then capped off 12/27/18 with a wonderful dinner, with wonderful friends in a new place that is actually old.  Yes, we went to the PUB for the first time (amazingly enough) and, in the main dining room, all I could think is that we were in the Beast's Castle in Disney.  I was a great atmosphere and the good food and conversation made it a really nice time.  Since the PUB became the PUB in 1950, that will be our number of the day.  And, since I felt like we were in Beauty and the Beast, its theme song will be our song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axySrE0Kg6k

As Cold As Ice (OK, Just 39 degrees)

Merchantville Softball played Waterford Little League on the evening of the 291st day of 2018.  And, on 10/18/18, it was cooooold!  (It is always cold there but tonight it was really cold).  The first cold snap of the Fall has arrived.  I even turned on the car's heat on the trip back.  It's supposed to go down to 39 tonight (first time in the 30s since April), so 39 is our number of the day.  And, although it's not 32, I still think this Foreigner song applies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC99JhQq-3w
